The day started off simple enough. Get up, shower, get dressed, and grab something to eat as she heads out the door to work. But now, now, she has her three coworkers staring at her increduliously as she does her best to look nonchalant, and it's all Milliways's fault.

Well...partly anyway.

During the time she's spent in Milliways [and as a result, Lisa], she's learned to trust people, let them through her walls, and as a result she finds herself unthinkingly responding to Kutner's geekery rather than rolling her eyes along with Foreman and Taub.

Taub shakes himself out of his stupor first, picking his jaw up off the ground before responding to her offhanded comment.

"Dear god, it's contagious."

That, she rolls her eyes at, crossing her arms as she regards the three coolly. "It's not like this is a new thing. There's plenty I haven't told you guys."

Foreman eyes her dubiously, and just a little disapprovingly. "What, you expect us to believe you've always been a nerd like Kutner? What next? You don't have Huntington's? You've secretly been having some sort of torrid affair with Cuddy?"

Thirteen very nearly loses her composure right there, but manages to keep her aloof expression.

"Yes," she answers simply. "And I told you last time you pestered me about it, I don't have Huntington's. The initial test was a false positive."

"Remy," he begins softly, as if he's speaking to a frightened child. "I know you're scared, but denying it w-"

"Shut up," interjects Thirteen, cutting Foreman off as she snaps at him through gritted teeth. "Just drop it."

The room descends once more into shocked silence as Foreman flinches back at the tone, sighing and bringing his paper up to read again with a mumbled "whatever". Taub pretends to go back to reading his medical journal, but she can see him looking between her and Foreman curiously. Kutner on the other hand, hasn't looked away. Instead, he's looking at her with a mixture of awe and curiosity, as if he expects her to suddenly tell him she was joking, and she, Taub and Foreman all have a good laugh on his behalf.

She watches out of the corner of her eye as he seemingly gathers his courage, bracing himself before speaking.

"Um. So, a few friends of mine are hosting a screening, if you're interested?"

The room seems to freeze once the question is posed, Taub looking up from his journal and Foreman looking at them from over top his paper. For a long while, Thirteen regards Kutner as she weighs her options in her mind. Despite her openness in Bar, she's till kept her coworkers at arm's length, but maybe, she should start letting them close, too? A small part of her screams not to, that letting them close just gives them more opportunity to hurt her, but she pushes that aside and nods.

"Sure," she says softly, and when Kutner beams at her, chattering about times and places, she finds her own mouth quirking up into a smile. Hey, this wasn't so bad.
