The various places become a blur, basement suites, apartment buildings, all one after the other. Beau, bless him, follows dutifully from one place to the next with minimal grumbling, no matter how tired the two of them are.
When all seems lost, the pair come across a converted studio apartment almost by accident, having spotted the building on their way home and agreeing to give it one last shot before settling on braving the commute each day.
When she finally sees inside, both woman and lynx realize this place is for them, and as Remy takes in the open space and exposed brick, Beau helps himself to a large stripe of late afternoon sunlight spilling in through a large window.
"I like it," he rumbles, and Remy finds herself smiling as she turns to the realtor.
"How much did you say?"
