Barcelona - Post Two

It's a good thing the Doctor shuffled Remy off to bed when he did, because she's dead to the world and still fully dressed before her head hits the pillow.

When morning rolls around, the young doctor is notably invigorated, practically bouncing out of her room after a wardrobe change and making a beeline for the TARDIS's kitchen. Soon after, she's puttering around the room happily and humming along to the music she's managed to get going.

"A little," he says after a sip of the tea. "Its apparent age notwithstanding, it's a fairly recent piece of Time Lord technology. The only reason I can see that it would have taken so much wear is that it's a relic from the Time War. The sorties took place over billions of years, right across the universe, and debris has been scattered throughout time and space as a result. So far, though, I still haven't been able to decipher the writing, or determine what its intended function was."

She settles in her seat, though her leg continues to bounce under the table as she sips at her own tea.

"So the sleepless night was all for naught, then?"

[just_the_doctor]

"Well, I know more than I did yesterday, at least. But, more or less, yeah," he admits. "But how about you? Are you really all right?"

[numbered_doctor]

Remy nods, placing her mug on the table in favour of her breakfast.

"I am," she reassures him. She's more than alright, really. She really can't remember ever feeling this good.

[just_the_doctor]

He smiles at that, relieved. "Feel like going out today, or taking it easy?"

[numbered_doctor]

She beams at him again from across the table.

"Wild horses couldn't keep me from exploring that planet more."

[just_the_doctor]

"Fair enough. What would you like to do?"

[numbered_doctor]

That smile just grows.

"You mentioned cliff diving?"

[just_the_doctor]

"Oh, yes, it's gorgeous. There's an overlook built up where we can watch the divers all the way from top to bottom. The way they almost seem to hang in the air because of the gravity change... stunning."

[numbered_doctor]

"...Who said anything about watching?"

[just_the_doctor]

The Doctor stares at her for a long drawn-out moment, trying to ascertain if she's serious. His brow furrows and lips turn down as he slowly realizes that she is.

"You honestly want to do that?"

[numbered_doctor]

She arches a brow, her grin fading some.

"Why not? It sounds like fun. Have you never had a go at it?"

[just_the_doctor]

"It's... not my usual choice of activity, no." He watches her expression change and feels a twinge of regret at having so obviously rained on her parade. "But if you want to give it a shot, I will happily cheer you on," he adds quickly.

[numbered_doctor]

"Going to provide support from the sidelines are you? I think I can live with that."

[just_the_doctor]

He grins again. "Glad to hear it. Meet in the console room in thirty minutes? We'll catch a jump shuttle."

[numbered_doctor]

"Sounds good," she chirps in reply, then gestures at herself. "This isn't exactly something one wears to jump off a cliff, is it?"

[just_the_doctor]

"Not quite," he answers with a chuckle. "There's bound to be some swimsuits in the wardrobe room -- goodness knows there's some of just about everything else."

[numbered_doctor]

The last of her breakfast disappears with the rest of her tea and she stands, gathering up her plate and mug.

"I'll have a poke around then, see what I can find."

[just_the_doctor]

The Doctor watches her go, then picks a little more at the food she'd prepared for him -- which is actually quite good -- before slipping back down to the medical bay to check on the status of his scan. Still running; will probably take hours to complete. No harm, then, in just leaving it to run while they nip off to the lake.

A few more minutes later, and he strolls on up to the console room to wait for Thirteen to finish getting ready.

Remy takes a little while longer to pick out a swimsuit than she initially thought it would, the vast amount of clothing scattered seemingly randomly around the room takes some time to make sense of.

Eventually, she emerges again, in a pair of board shorts, and a teeshirt thrown over the bikini top.

"You really need to hire a maid or something for back there," she remarks dryly as she enters the console room.

"I had someone in once. She took one look, screamed, and ran out." The Doctor frowns. "I can't imagine why."

[numbered_doctor]

Thirteen just chuckles, rolling her eyes at him.

"Sure, you don't."

[just_the_doctor]

"So, shall we go?" he asks, offering her an arm.

[numbered_doctor]

Grinning, she makes her way over to him, looping her arm in his.

"Well, if you're not going to throw yourself off of a perfectly good cliff, you at least going to come swimming?"

[just_the_doctor]

He wrinkles his nose a bit. "Water and I have an agreement not to bother one enough. I don't go into large quantities of it, and large quantities of it don't go into me."
